The beginning of the Jimbo Fisher era has finally arrived. How will Texas A&M football finish in their first year with their brand new head coach?
Soon enough fans will pack into Kyle Field to watch the Jimbo Fisher era officially begin in Aggieland. The season begins with Northwestern State, a team that many believe the Aggies will take down easily before heading into the meat of their schedule.
However, a starting quarterback still hasn’t been officially announced- though Twitter politics seem to lead toward Kellen Mond– and as a result there are still quite a few question marks around the upcoming season.
Here’s what to expect from the Aggies’ 2018 slate:
The Northwestern State Demons will be significantly easier to take down than the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in the Belk Bowl eons ago. Well, it was simply the end of the 2017 season, but with all of the changes, Fisher and company have made that seems like forever ago.
The Demons finished the 2017 season in the Southland Conference, 4-7. They had losses to the likes of Southeastern Louisiana, Nicholls State and Sam Houston State- among others. That isn’t exactly something that has Aggie fans quaking in their boots.
This kind of game is exactly how Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies want to start off 2018, a game that is almost a sure win and that will allow for testing of the depth chart to its fullest extent. This will be easily a win for Texas A&M, starting the Jimbo Fisher era off with a bang at Kyle Field.
