Texas football has one game circled on their calendar every year: Oklahoma. Here’s why the Longhorns will be better than the Sooners in 2018.

The Red River Showdown is one of the best rivalries in college football, and it is usually one of the top games in college football every season. Oklahoma has won the last two games, but that may change in 2018.

Texas had their first winning record last season since 2013 after finishing with a 7-6 overall record and finishing 5-4 in Big 12 Conference play. Oklahoma made it to the College Football Playoff and finished with a 12-2 record last season, only losing to Iowa State and then Georgia in overtime of the College Football Playoff semifinal.

This season, Texas will play Oklahoma on Oct. 6 at the Cotton Bowl Stadium. Oklahoma will likely be the favorite to win the game, but Texas will be the better team this season for multiple reasons. Here are the top five.
