In the first FBS vs FBS matchup of the season, the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors take on the Colorado State Rams. Can the Rams open 2018 with another blowout win?

College football is finally here, and the first FBS matchup of the season has the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors traveling to the mainland to take on the Colorado State Rams. Entering the game, the Rams are two-touchdown favorites and after last season’s 51-21 win over the Warriors, it’s pretty clear why they are. But it’s a new season and once the ball is kicked off, the game could go either teams’ way.

Both teams are looking to start off the 2018 campaign with an early season conference win. For the Rams, their coming off a 7-6 season that showed some promise until late October in which they went on a three-game losing streak. And for Hawaii, a win over the Rams would already match their conference wins from 2017.

A Hawaii win would also mean a step in the right direction for them, but two steps backward for the Rams. It’s a long season and for two teams of the Mountain West Conference, a Week 0 loss doesn’t mean a bad start to a lost season.

Bottom line, the Rams are the favorite to win but let’s take a look at what we could see in that first win of the season.
