James Franklin is entering his fifth year with Penn State football. Expectations are as high as ever despite losing several key players.

Penn State enters the fifth year of the James Franklin era. He has compiled a 36-17 record, a Big Ten championship and a New Year’s Six bowl victory last season. Factoring in what he did at Vanderbilt in his three seasons there, it is pretty laughable to call him an overrated coach.

So far, he has proven to be worth the big bucks he is being paid. Barring something crazy, it looks like he should have Penn State competing at the top of the Big Ten for the next several seasons.

While it may not be realistic to have inflated expectations for your team, it’s the preseason still so go wild.

Let’s go crazy and make some bold predictions for the upcoming Nittany Lion campaign. If anything, it makes for good water cooler talk as the season nears.
