Everyone was excited to see this series announced. A little over a decade about, Texas and USC matched up for the national title and it went down to the wire as Vince Young scampered for the game-winning touchdown with under a minute left to beat Reggie Bush and the Trojans.

Last year, the Trojans and Longhorns battled it out in Los Angeles and it happened to be one of the best games of non-conference play. The game went to overtime with USC coming away victorious, 27-24.

This season should see more of the same tight play. The Trojans are starting a true freshman quarterback and the Longhorn defense is licking its chops to put some pressure on the young gunslinger in Austin. JT Daniels will still have a decent game, but a late interception will change the outlook of the game.

The Trojans may be loaded on both sides of the ball, but don’t sleep on this Texas team to steal an early-season win, especially with more advanced quarterback play.

Texas and USC will go down to the wire yet again, but should we expect anything else?

Final Score: USC 24, Texas 28 (3-0)
