The Kenny Hill era for TCU is finally over and it felt like the quarterback was in college for about a decade, but he’s handing the reins to sophomore Shawn Robinson who could become an even better passer than his predecessor.

Though he had limited snaps last season, he still passed for 184 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. He looks the part of a strong No. 1 quarterback, but consistency will be the most important thing with him. Hitting the road to take on a ranked Texas team will rattle him a bit, though. He’s going to have his second straight shaky performance against a ranked team (Ohio State the week before).

Darius Anderson and KaVontae Turpin will have strong days on the ground, though, making up for his poor play but it won’t be enough to overcome Sam Ehlinger, Keaontay Ingram and the rest of the Longhorns’ offense, which includes a bundle of talented receivers as well.

The Texas run defense will struggle to slow Turpin and Anderson in the first half, allowing over 150 rushing yards, but it’ll hold TCU to 50 yards rushing in the second half.

This will be a nice early-season conference win for the Longhorns.

Final Score: TCU 20, Texas 24 (4-0, 1-0 Big 12)
