This stretch of games from the middle of September to the beginning of October will be a tough one for Texas, but the Longhorns will handle it well, going 2-2 during the four-game span.

Yes, that means they will lose to Oklahoma in the Red River Showdown.

However, this will be a much tighter game than some will give it credit for. Oklahoma will be unscathed entering this one, but just like last year, the two will have a back-and-forth battle with the Sooners’ superior depth and talent shining through in the end.

Despite losing Baker Mayfield, the Sooners will be in good hands on the offensive side of things with Kyler Murray taking over. He has a dual-threat ability as well as a strong, accurate arm though he may be slightly undersized. He’ll be a problem for the Longhorns, but Sam Ehlinger will prove to be a tough matchup for Oklahoma’s defense.

This will be one of those memorable quarterback battles with Murray finishing with a slight edge and the Sooners will kick a field goal with two minutes left to win the game.

Final Score: Texas 27, Oklahoma 30 (4-2, 1-2 Big 12)
