Arguably the most potent offensive attack in the Big 12 is West Virginia and the Mountaineers should strike fear into opponents this season.

More from Texas Longhorns

Winning on the road in the Big 12 isn’t easy, though, and the Mountaineers will find that out the hard way. In the middle of a battle for first place in the conference and a trip to the title game, West Virginia will have a little slip-up in Austin as the Longhorns come away with a big-time upset. This will also end the Longhorns skid of three losses in four games and put them back on track.

Keaontay Ingram will have a 150-yard rushing day and Sam Ehlinger will add 50 yards rushing as well as 250 passing yards as the Longhorns take it to West Virginia’s defense.

The Mountaineers will keep pace, scoring at will early on, but the Longhorns will adjust and shut West Virginia down, for the most part, in the second half.

This may take West Virginia out of the playoff race.

Texas will become bowl eligible with the win and open some eyes around the nation. No, the Longhorns aren’t to be messed with, folks.

Final Score: West Virginia 35, Texas 42 (6-3, 3-3 Big 12)
