1. Appalachian State, September 1, University Park, PA

This should be an easy win for Penn State to start the season and an opportunity to see some of the new talent on the field. For example, Miles Sanders should have plenty of opportunities to carry the ball and show what he can do.

Appalachian State is not a bad team at all though. They have finished with at least nine wins the last three season and played in a bowl game each year.

They return their leading rusher Jalin Thomas from last season who had over 1,000 rushing yards. Also, two of their three leading receivers return this season.

The game may stay close in the first quarter, but Penn State is far too talented and should easily win a game that will allow them to work out the kinks before traveling to play their rivals in Pittsburgh.

Final: Appalachian State 13, Penn State 45 (1-0)
