2. Wild for Wildcat

Dwayne Haskins is the clear starter under center for the Buckeyes. However that does not mean there are not some packages designed for highly touted redshirt freshman Tate Martell.

Martell was a five star prospect and number two dual threat quarterback in the 2017 class. He is too good of a player to not see the field. Martell has a different set of skills compared to Haskins so the Buckeyes could use him in some Wildcat type packages. He also could find himself in a role similar to what Braxton Miller had when he was in Columbus.

Martell is sure to see time in games that are blowouts and there is a very good chance there will be three of them in the first month of the season. Unfortunately there is always a realistic possibility of Haskins getting hurt. Martell is more than capable of filling in and if that comes to pass, will be making his first collegiate start.

With plenty of opportunities for playing time, let’s guess Martell scores a touchdown in at least three of the Buckeyes first five games.
