As the season kicks off tonight, there are still question marks in every conference. Here are my predictions for Florida State football’s 2018 outlook.

Florida State has a tough road schedule this year, with several back-to-back road games against tough opponents, including Louisville, Miami, Notre Dame and NC State.

Last season wasn’t pretty, but the Seminoles still managed to eke out a winning season and go to their 36th straight bowl game. In the past, the Seminoles set the bar for ACC play, and Clemson has risen to the challenge.

For years, football experts considered the ACC one of the weaker of the Power Five conferences, but this is no longer the case. Every team in the league has improved, and if you look at CFP winners since its inception, one of those teams was an ACC team. In addition, the conference has been in the final four for two years straight (the Seminoles won a national title in 2013, which was the final game of the BCS).

Regardless, if you aren’t taking the ACC seriously, you need to be.

Naysayers are citing last season as definitive proof that the ‘Noles will no longer be a contender in the conference. The naysayers are wrong. The ‘Noles are far from perfect and they still have a long season ahead of them, but Willie Taggart has transformed every aspect of this team, particularly the running game.

So here are my bold predictions for the Seminoles in 2018.
