Matt Luke and Kliff Kingsbury could not enter this game in any more different shoes. Luke is a newly minted head coach, beloved by a fanbase that needed someone to rally around. Kingsbury is living on the edge, barely saving his job a season ago thanks to an upset win over Texas. His seat will be plenty hot entering 2018.

Texas Tech will be without Nic Shimonek and Keke Coutee, stars from last year’s team that finished No. 23 in the nation in total offense. In their places will be McClane Carter and TJ Vasher. Vasher was an explosive deep threat for the Red Raiders last season, averaging 18.8 yards per catch and coming down with six scores.

Ole Miss will counter with a duo far greater. The Jordan Ta’amu to AJ Brown connection will get its first field work of the season in against the Red Raiders, who won’t have an answer for one of the nation’s best wide receiver-quarterback tandems.
