The SEC gets a bad rap for cupcakes schedules. While not every team in the conference loads up on the easiest opponents they can get, Ole Miss could be the worst offender in some time. Just two weeks removed from a home game against Southern Illinois the Rebels host the Kent State Flashes in mid-September.

Former Auburn quarterback Woody Barrett will get the start at quarterback for the Flashes, but he’ll still be learning the new system by the time the Ole Miss game arrives. He’ll have a relatively steady receiving corps to throw to, but it shouldn’t matter given the talent gap between these two teams.

Kent State sputtered to a 2-10 record last season. They were blown out of the water by Clemson (56-3), smashed by Louisville (42-3) and dusted up against by Ohio (48-3). Ole Miss will have an offense that’s comparable to those three, at worst. That should make for another one-sided affair in the grove.
