Ole Miss Football: 2018 Game-by-game predictions
This is where things get interesting. Ole Miss is by no means a perfect team. They have their warts, particularly their once renown “Landshark” defense. The Rebels finished dead last in the SEC against the run last year and ninth against the pass. Contrast that to LSU who finished third against the run and sixth against the pass.
On paper, these Tigers have a clear advantage. But they don’t play games on paper. With no bowl game to play for the Rebels are going to make it their mission to make everyone else’s lives miserable in 2018.
LSU has a certain “oops, it all came tumbling down” factor about them. Just as it was when Les Miles was frantically shown the door, so too could Ed Orgeron if things don’t get off to a great start. Whether it’s a new quarterback in Ohio State transfer Joe Burrow or the absence of a dominant running back like years past, LSU will stumble on offense and Ole Miss will be ready to pull off the upset.
