Dana Holgorsen-led West Virginia football teams have produced some of the most-exciting individual talents. This list will highlight the 10 greatest individual seasons.

What truly stands out when thinking back on Dana Holgorsen’s career at WVU is the number of great individual talents he’s had. From players like Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey, to Kevin White and David Sills, West Virginia has enjoyed a handful of game-breaking players — and no, they’re not all wide receivers.

Having a great season in college football doesn’t only happen for four and five-star high school recruits though, thankfully. The Mountaineers, who get their fair share of four-star recruits, rarely land the five-star products that flock to the Alabamas and the USCs. They’d rather follow along somewhere else instead of forging their own path in Morgantown, but I digress.

Holgorsen’s coached the Mountaineers to a 53-37 record in his seven seasons at the helm of the program. While a few of his best players played on great teams with winning records, that can’t be said for everybody on this list.

In Holgorsen’s latest 10-win season, an undersized, junior college transfer started – and flourished — at quarterback for the Mountaineers. Another season saw the ‘Eers boast the Big 12’s leading rusher — and he was only a three-star recruit.

Some of these players Holgorsen recruited to Morgantown, while others he simply inherited. Regardless, they were all proud to be Mountaineers.
