A Favorable Schedule

In addition to their scheduled home games, the rest of Penn State’s schedule sides with them as well. With a bye week between Ohio State and Michigan State and no trap games that post a real threat, Penn State will be focused on their next opponent and won’t be looking ahead.

Playing at Michigan and then at home versus Wisconsin will be a tough back-to-back to play but all eyes should be on Big Blue before taking on the Badgers.

Michigan State wasn’t so lucky in the scheduling department. Only two games into the season, the Spartans have their bye week. The Spartans also face several trap games including Northwestern (week before @ Penn State), and at Maryland (week before Ohio State). Although most coaches will say they don’t look ahead, trap games are crucial to any teams success. And for the Spartans, falling into the trap seems likely.
