After a rough start to his Michigan career, outsiders have been quick to turn their backs on Donovan Peoples-Jones — yes, the same kid who was ranked the No. 1 receiver in the 2017 recruiting class.

Obviously it’s way too soon to label a kid a bust, but his 320-yard season was slightly underwhelming, though he did have 40 receptions.

With Michigan finally adding an elite quarterback to the roster — the jury is still out on Brandon Peters, Joe Milton and Dylan McCaffrey — Peoples-Jones could see his numbers more than double and his confidence rise drastically as well. In fact, confidence was one of his major struggles in 2017, but that will change with a revamped offense.

Shea Patterson is looking to develop a No. 1 target and Peoples-Jones looks like just that, especially with Tarik Black fracturing his foot.

Michigan will have a new star receiver and Peoples-Jones will be silencing all of his doubters, one-by-one.
