How does one simply replace Saquon Barkley? Unfortunately, it won’t be that easy for James Franklin and Co., but the backfield cupboard won’t exactly be bare.

In fact, Miles Sanders is finally getting his opportunity after sitting behind Barkley for two seasons as a former five-star recruit. If you think the Penn State run game will no longer be effective, you don’t know much about Sanders and his ability to take over a game.

Sanders is a strong back, standing 5-foot-11 and weighing about 210 pounds. He has speed but he can also run over opponents. He doesn’t shy from contact, but his vision is also impressive. He’s never broken the 200-yard mark for a single-season, but he’s also never averaged less than 6.2 yards per carry.

Simply put, this kid wasn’t utilized nearly enough, but with Barkley on the roster, you had to keep feeding the hot hand.

Don’t doubt Penn State’s run game without Barkley; this Sanders kid will be all the hype in the Big Ten in 2018.
