Honestly, there may not be a scarier unknown force on the defensive line in college football. Ohio State’s Chase Young was decent in nine appearances last season, recording a modest 18 tackles with five for loss and 2.5 sacks, but he’s capable of so much more.

Like many others on this list, Young was a five-star recruit, but at Ohio State, that doesn’t necessarily mean you’re guaranteed early playing time. He got an opportunity, but not an extensive one.

At 6-foot-5, 265 pounds, you may think he’s a bit larger than he should be for the end position, but he moves like a linebacker. When you see Young barreling down on the quarterback, you almost have to cringe in anticipation of a monster hit. He was one of the stars of spring ball for the Buckeyes and it’s almost a given he’ll be a breakout star opposite Nick Bosa.

If the Ohio State defensive line wasn’t fearsome enough, they have some budding stars like Young just rising through the ranks and taking over the depth chart.
