Texas A&M football kicks off the 2018 season at home under the lights against Northwestern State. What can we expect in Jimbo Fishers’ first game as head coach?

The hype in College Station has gradually escalated from a whisper into a dull roar this offseason. By the time the Aggies take the field against Northwestern State on Thursday the fervor surrounding a program once again on the rise will be all-but deafening.

Jimbo Fisher famously made the decision to uproot from Florida State and accept a massive contract to become the next head coach at Texas A&M. He’s dominated the recruiting grounds thus far and currently has the No. 1 class in the nation, per ESPN. That’s an impressive start, but it’s finally time to prove his worth on the football field.

Texas A&M agreed to a Thursday kickoff. Other than a few Week 0 contests, the Aggies will be the first nationally televised game of the 2018 season. The eyes will be on Aggieland. Here’s what the nation can expect to see.
