Khalil Tate will finish the month with at least 800 rushing yards. The Wildcats quarterback will thrive in the system of Noel Mazzone, as he continues to present multiple threats to defenses. Tate will utilize his legs to maximum effect, setting himself up for a run at a 2000-yard rushing season at quarterback and a potential Heisman bid.
One of the top ballhawking defenses in the country in 2018 will lead the country in turnovers generated by the end of September. Last year the Wildcats ranked seventh in the country in interceptions, snagging 19 picks over the course of the season. Where they were deficient in 2017 was in generating fumbles. Even with a young group of linebackers, those fortunes are going to turn in September as Arizona ranks high in both fumbles and interceptions.
When Arizona faces USC in Tucson on September 29 for the final game of the month, the Wildcats will be undefeated. More importantly, and more boldly, they will be ranked higher in the polls than the visiting Trojans. USC faces a trio of Stanford, Texas, and Washington State ahead of what will be the Pac-12 game of the week, and the Trojans will have at least one loss on their record when they face the Wildcats at the end of the month.
