Bryce Love is going to have 1,000 yards before October rolls around as he averages more than 200 yards per game on the ground. More importantly, though, he will have at least a dozen receptions as the Cardinal work more effectively getting him the ball in different ways to boost his draft stock. Love will have at least 10 touchdowns as well, with one or more coming on a catch-and-run play spanning 50-plus yards.
KJ Costello is going to anchor his position as the starting quarterback, leading game-winning drives against rivals USC and Notre Dame before the end of the month. Costello will complete at least 65 percent of his passes for an average of more than 270 yards per game. Love’s increased use in the passing game will play a major role in the boost to both of those numbers.
Stanford will still be undefeated and in the thick of the College Football Playoff hunt at the end of September. They will exorcise demons against San Diego State and USC in the first two weeks of new campaign. The Aztecs and Trojans were two of the four teams that dealt the Cardinal losses last season. They will follow that up with a takedown of UC Davis before winning ranked matchups against Oregon and Notre Dame.
