2. Dalvin Cook‘s brother makes an impact

Remember the name Dalvin Cook, a former Florida State standout now playing for the Minnesota Vikings? Well, his brother, James Cook, is now at Georgia and part of a loaded group of running backs.

At 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds, the Miami native has world-class speed and enough size to run over smaller defenders. He did that against Austin Peay, carrying the ball six times for 66 yards. That included a long of 36, which was the second-longest run of the day for the team.

Last year, the Bulldogs found enough carries to keep Sony Michel and Nick Chubb happy. This season, they have Cook, D’Andre Swift and Elijah Holyfield to rotate through.

Cook was a standout who earned accolades at Miami Central on both the football field and track. He helped his school win four consecutive state titles and was also a star on the defensive side of the ball.

It will be fun to watch as someone attempts to gain the upper-hand in this committee for carries as we head into the SEC slate. Georgia could also look at it as a smart way to keep all of the backs healthy and fresh by limiting them to 10-or-fewer carries a game.
