3. Remember the Ridder

The Bearcats found their quarterback of the future on a night that was supposed to belong to UCLA in that regard.

Desmond Ridder and Hayden Moore were involved in a battle that resulted in Cincinnati head coach Luke Fickell not naming a starter until kickoff.

Once it was apparent Desmond Ridder would be the hand to go with, the redshirt freshman from Louisville took off.

He didn’t light up the scoreboard with his arm, but Ridder was effective, completing 13 of 24 passes for 100 yards. He also added 63 yards rushing on 14 carries, but more importantly, no turnovers for the newcomer.
