Big Ten Football Power Rankings: Shaky start at the top in Week 1

Week 1 is in the books, and 11 teams came away with a win. Heading into Week 2, which teams made some moves in our Big Ten Football Power Rankings.

In the opening week of the 2018 college football season, 13 teams of the Big Ten were in action. We saw blowouts, nail bitters, overtime and the first conference game of the season. With these Week 1 games, there are a lot of takeaways and overreactions. While the majority of our rankings stayed the same, one team made a huge jump after their Texas-sized win against a Big 12 opponent.

In Week 2, we should see more competitive play in the big Ten’s non-conference games as six teams play another member of the Power Five Conferences. One of those teams are the Nebraska Cornhuskers who will officially kick off their season after their Week 1 home game versus Akron was canceled do to weather. We also see one conference game, that probably won’t be as competitive as Northwestern vs Purdue.

Every team in the Big Ten has a game in Week 2 and with the games that take place, we could see a shake up in our rankings. But that’s for next week. For now, let’s take a look at the Big Ten 2018 Week 1 Power Rankings
