Week 1 of the college football season is in the books and we’re already looking ahead to Week 2. Here are five reasons fans should be excited about Week 2.

The true opening weekend of college football has come to a close and we’re already looking ahead to the second full week of action.

There aren’t as many big matchups in Week 2 but there are some games that could be fun for fans to watch on Saturday. The early slate is kind of abysmal and is your chance to get in a workout, maybe a swim in the pool, or even a leisurely stroll to the local Blockbuster Video.

While noon isn’t loaded with matchups there are some talented players involved like Ed Oliver, Khalil Tate, Kyler Murray and Chase Winovich. Those All-American caliber talents are all on the noon slate. The competition increases as the day, and drink count, continues. At 1 p.m. ET the Oklahoma Sooners host the UCLA Bruins and that could be another beat down for Chip Kelly‘s new squad.

Once the sun goes down the slate of big time matchups is few and far between but the late night games are Cal at BYU and Michigan State at Arizona State and both can be fun under the right circumstances.

Here are the five reasons to be excited for Week 2 of the college football season.
