Yes, we’ve only gone through one week of the 2018 college football season but it’s never too early to think about who will end up in a New Year’s Six bowl.

The start of the 2018 college football season was everything we could have asked for and then some. We had great top 25 matchups, near upsets and some surprising winners. Although it’s only Week 1, every week matters in college football.

One loss can put you out of national title contention and have you fall just short of a conference championship. And for the members of the Power Five conferences, the goal is to make the New Year’s Six.

Every team is playing for a national championship, so making two of those six bowl games is the objective. But whether you fall just short of the College Football Playoff or really far from it, playing in the remaining four New Year’s Six bowl games.

For those of you who aren’t quite sure what the New Year’s Six Bowls are, they are: the Peach Bowl, Cotton Bowl, Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Orange Bowl and Fiesta Bowl. And for the 2018 season, the Cotton Bowl and Orange Bowl play host to the semi-final matchups of the College Football Playoff.

Again, it’s only been a week’s worth of games and there’s still plenty of games to go, but let’s take a look at the New Year’s Six bowl projections (projections are based off AP Poll rankings until the College Football Playoff rankings are released).
