TCU football appears to be a legit contender in the Big 12 after one week of action, but the Horned Frogs must avoid any possible letdown vs. SMU.

With a key battle looming on the horizon vs. Ohio State, TCU will be trying to add to its impressive dismantling of Southern last Saturday and impress the public eye even more.

Shawn Robinson cemented his name as the starting quarterback with a five-touchdown showing. He completed 17-of-24 for 182 yards, adding 45 rushing yards and finding the end zone on each attempt.

As a team, the Horned Frogs ran for 235 yards on 42 carries, adding another 264 with four touchdowns and no interceptions.

The Mustangs had troubles with North Texas in Week 1, but Ben Hicks did pass for 252 yards and two scores. Getting the run game going will be important after rushing for just four net yards on 19 carries.

Here’s how you can watch Friday night’s TCU vs. SMU game:

Date: Friday, Sept. 7
Time: 7 p.m. ET
Location: Dallas, Texas
Venue: Gerald J. Ford Stadium
TV: ESPN2
Live Stream: WatchESPN or FuboTV

Keys to Victory

It will all start with defense for the Mustangs if they have any hopes of pulling the upset at home. If SMU can’t slow down this high-octane Horned Frog offense, they’ll never be in this game.

For TCU, this is all about going in, taking care of business and getting out as healthy as possible. The Horned Frogs host Ohio State in a key September battle next Saturday night.

Prediction

It looks like we’ve entered into another rough patch of SMU football. The Mustangs struggled to stop North Texas, and if last weekend is any indication, the TCU offense just might be one of the best in the Big XII.

Final Score: TCU 45, SMU 17
