Week 1 of college football brought quite a bit of excitement and hype. Will Week 2 be the same? Here are my bold predictions for the week.
In Week 1, we saw a few upsets and quite a few predictable matchups. We began to see who will compete at a high level and who came out of the gate struggling. So far, Tennessee notwithstanding, the SEC established dominance out of the gate overall. Meanwhile, teams like Miami and Penn State struggled. One was knocked out in week one and the other survived an upset bid.
Will Week Two bring with it the same level of excitement? Without further ado, let’s get bold and talk what could happen on Saturday.
5. Kentucky shows us Florida’s true colors.
In the offseason, the Florida Gators stole away Dan Mullen from Mississippi State. For the Gators, week one brought a win over Charleston Southern, 53-6. Feleipe Franks threw five touchdowns passes in the first half. After managing just nine touchdowns passes in 11 games as a freshman in 2017, Franks had five in less than 30 minutes of work against the lower-division Buccaneers.
Are the Gators “back?” Does this team have the ability to make a run at the SEC East and stand toe to toe with the Bulldogs of Georgia? I am surely not convinced. What I am convinced of, however, is that the opening of conference play against Kentucky will show us if Florida is putting something together or not.
