Ohio State football had a relatively easy matchup against Oregon State last week, but what can we expect vs. Rutgers in Week 2?
The Buckeyes and Scarlet Knights face off in this Week 2 contest. Rutgers comes in after their best offensive performance in nearly 11 months, getting an easy victory over Texas State.
Ohio State had some issues with weather delays, but the offense was humming all game. The Buckeyes racked up 77 points as they gave Oregon State’s defense fits. Dwayne Haskins played exceptionally well throwing five touchdown passes and Mike Weber was a force running the ball into the end zone three times.
The defense looked great in the first half, scoring a touchdown in the second quarter. There were a few lapses int he first half as the secondary gave up an early long touchdown, but the second half performance after the lightning delay could have fans worried.
The Beavers were able to run for nearly 200 yards and played very competitively in the second half. If the Buckeyes defense plays that poorly against better offensive competition Ohio State could play themselves out of national championship contention.
As we head into Week 2 let’s take a look at some bold predictions for this week’s game.
