Penn State Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Pittsburgh in Week 2
By Shane Lunnen
Penn State football travels to Pittsburgh to face its in-state rival in Week 2. Here are three predictions for the heated matchup.
Penn State survived their Week 1 match-up against Appalachian State. The Lions needed overtime to finish the Mountaineers off, winning 38-31.
Now they renew their rivalry with the Pitt Panthers this Saturday night from Heinz Field. Saturday’s game marks the 99th meeting between the two schools.
Pitt will be looking to pull off the upset that Appalachian State could not. With a night game at home, it looks to be their biggest game of the season. The Panthers have pulled off a stunning upset each of the last two seasons, delivering the first losses to Miami in 2017 and Clemson the year before.
Despite Pitt’s habit of pulling upsets, Nittany Lion fans should rest easy. We are here to tell you Penn State will make the necessary corrections from the Appalachian State game. They will pull off the road victory Saturday night and it will not be particularly close.
The Lions have more talent than the Panthers and should impose their will on them.
