Tulsa comes to town as Texas football is hoping for a rebound game. Here’s everything you need to know for the Week 2 matchup.

Texas will be trying to wash the bad taste out of its mouth from Week 1 loss to Maryland. The Longhorns will welcome in Tulsa and hope to get a good win and work out some kinks before USC in Week 3.

The Longhorns dropped out of the AP Top 25 following their 34-29 loss to Maryland, but they’ll look to get back on track against the Golden Hurricane.

On the other hand, Tulsa started the season off with a 38-27 win over Central Arkansas. Texas will be happy to be back home at Royal Texas Memorial Stadium to take on the Golden Hurricane.

Keys to Victory

Texas will need to establish the run to get off to fast start. Last week against Maryland, Texas managed to only rush for 142 yards on 36 carries for an average of 3.9 yards per carry. Look for heavy doses of Keaontay Ingram and Tre Watson.

The Longhorn defense will need to play better to limit big plays. Tulsa rushed for almost 300 yards as a team against Central Arkansas and three touchdowns. Texas cannot have repeat of Maryland performance if they want to come away with a win.

Prediction

Texas being eager to get back on winning side of record will come out fast and score first. Sam Ehlinger will redeem himself and his two interception and throw three touchdowns. Two of those will go to Lil’Jordan Humphrey. The Longhorns will have two rushers go over 100 yards after not having one last week. Tulsa will have to deal with heavy doses of Watson and true freshman Ingram.

Final Score: Texas 45, Tulsa 21
