If the fact that Alabama still has Nick Saban and yet another crop of stellar recruits entering the 2018 season isn’t bad enough, they apparently now have a quarterback who can take pressure off the Crimson Tide defense.

Scary thought for the SEC.

After the 51-14 drubbing of Louisville (who is not a bad team, by the way) it’s clear that Tua Tagovailoa is no fluke, and his championship-saving performance against Georgia in February was a look at things to come for the Tide.

For his part, Tua’s stats against the Cardinals don’t look Heisman-list worthy, but when you eyeball what he did on the field and how the Tide responded to his leadership, it’s obvious he’ll be in the thick of the hunt all season.

Tua is everything Nick Saban was hoping Jalen Hurts would be, and his deep passes have a Fouts-like feel to them. He showed escapability, good decision making, and incredible poise.
