Arkansas Football: Rebuild in full display in loss to Colorado State

Arkansas football is a work in progress. That was readily apparent even in a Week 2 loss to a hapless Colorado State squad on the road.

The Razorbacks have a new head coach. Chad Morris was brave enough to take on the challenge, but it’s going to take him some time. That much was evident from the disastrous performance on the road against a woeful Colorado State squad.

Per Oddshark, Arkansas opened as an 11-point favorite against Colorado State. That line would climb to 14.5 points before kickoff. Those expectations seemed to be validated after the Razorbacks took a 27-9 lead midway through the third quarter. Then things went south for Arkansas in a hurry.

Not only did the Hogs backslide, they were shutout in the final 21 minutes of the game. They watched, almost aimlessly as Colorado State marched up and down the field, scoring at will until the 18 point lead had been erased and the Rams were punching in the go-ahead touchdown with precious seconds remaining on the clock.
