1. Quarterback controversy

Head coach Chad Morris experienced a vexing quarterback situation on Saturday night. Junior Ty Storey, who only recently was named the starter, struggled mightily out of the gate. He completed five of 13 passes for 36 yards with two interceptions. After Morris had seen enough, he inserted Cole Kelly.

Kelly wasted no time connecting on touchdowns of 64-yards and 25-yards on his first two passes of the game. Not only did Morris’ starter not get the job done; the backup made it abundantly clear this competition wasn’t over. Now Arkansas finds themselves with two quarterbacks instead of one and a home game against an offensively potent North Texas squad next weekend.

In prior years, having uncertainty at the quarterback position wouldn’t have been that big of a deal for Arkansas. Morris is looking to install a much more pass-heavy offense than what Bret Bielema ran with the Razorbacks. That makes finding one guy imperative, something which got much more challenging following Saturday’s result.
