1. Darrell Henderson was the Memphis offense

Navy had zero to no answer for Darrell Henderson as he went for 230 total yards of offense and three scores. Henderson had multiple highlights today with touchdown rushes of 78 and 59 yards and averaged 16.3 yards per gain out of the backfield.

Henderson took the starting job away from fellow Memphis back Patrick Taylor Jr. last season and is the bell cow back for one of the best backfields in college football. His 212 rushing yards and three touchdowns are both career highs for the junior. His previous high was the season opener in 2017 against Louisiana-Monroe when he took off for 169 yards and two scores. This is his first 200-plus yard gain, but the eighth time he’s topped the century mark.

Darrell Henderson should continue to be a key contributor going forward if the passing attack is going to continue to struggle. His carrying numbers aren’t usually the best but he certainly makes the most out of it with a career yards per carry of 7.6. His receiving numbers are up from a season ago with 80 receiving yards on two receptions where he had 11 yards on three receptions at this time last year.
