Mississippi State football went to the Little Apple for the first road test of the Moorehead era and thoroughly dominated Kansas State.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs put the SEC on notice with a 31-10 win at Kansas State. Yes, they are in the same division as teams like Alabama and Auburn, but these Bulldogs aren’t messing around. They showed Kansas State they meant business and will soon show the rest of the SEC West as well.

So, without further ado, let’s talk takeaways from this early afternoon tilt in the Little Apple.

3. The Big 12 has strength, but Kansas State ain’t it

I’m very sorry Wildcat fans, but your team is just not a contender this year. This is one of the best the SEC has to offer and I understand that, but the Wildcats just seemed underdeveloped and underwhelming. This team may compete in the Big 12 in terms of being a middle of the row team, but they will not be playing in a championship anytime soon.

The offense, run by two quarterbacks, seemed like they were unaware of how to handle being under pressure from a strong defense.

Of course, part of that comes from being in a conference who doesn’t exactly play defense on the regular. All things considered though, I am not convinced the Wildcats are anything special this season.
