More: How to watch Oklahoma vs UCLA in Week 2
For the first time since 2005, Oklahoma squares off against UCLA in a meeting of the Big 12 champion and the Pac-12 challenger. When they last met 13 years ago, UCLA pulled off a 41-24 victory over the Sooners at the Rose Bowl.
Before that, Oklahoma won all three previous meetings between the two schools. Twice the Sooners won by 35 points, and the last time was “only” a 20-point victory. Lincoln Riley’s squad will be aiming to put together a performance like the 1986 or 2003 blowouts or even the 1990 win by three scores.
Currently sitting at No. 6 in the AP Top 25 and No. 5 in the Coaches Poll, Oklahoma is a front-runner for one of the four College Football Playoff spots in 2018. UCLA, on the other hand, is reeling after a season-opening loss. New head coach Chip Kelly dropped his first game back in the college ranks in six years to Group of Five school, Cincinnati.
UCLA will try to rebound after that upset at home. Oklahoma is shooting to keep themselves among the upper echelon of teams in the FBS. Here are three bold predictions about the Saturday showdown between the Sooners and the Bruins.
