The ACC football season is getting set to really heat up, but we learned a lot about the league after Week 2. Who tops the power rankings?

There were a few compelling showdowns for ACC football, but for the most part the conference put up a stinker in the big contests.

Clemson was able to avoid a major upset on the road against the Texas A&M Aggies, and it’s safe to say that Kelly Bryant will keep a lock on the quarterback position for the next couple of weeks.

The Yellow Jackets had a hard time slowing down South Florida, and the Tar Heels could be entering dumpster fire status.

Duke pulled out a very good road win and could be a legitimate threat to play in the ACC Title game if they get a few breaks during conference play.

The rest of the pack played Group of Five or FCS opponents that didn’t have as much weight on their rankings as the other games.

As we head into the Week 3 slate of games let’s take a look at this week’s ACC football power rankings.

Is it safe to say that Larry Fedora will not be coaching the Tar Heels next season? Unless they produce a miracle come back the loss to East Carolina could be the eventual nail in the coffin. I don’t expect them to improve much this season and will take a lot of luck for them to get to bowl eligibility.

The Cavaliers defense did a good job of keeping the Hoosiers out of the end zone in the second half but the damage was already done. The defense will need to focus on stopping the run as they gave up over 200 yards rushing to freshman Stevie Scott. The next game is against Ohio and the Cavaliers should be favored to come out with the win.

The Yellow Jackets defense had a very poor game against the South Florida Bulls. They gave up 49 points including two kickoff returns for touchdowns. A match-up against the Pitt Panthers awaits them in Week 3, but the early prospects don’t look promising.
