A new number sits atop the Pac-12 football Conference power rankings after Week 2, as Stanford football climbs to No. 1 after besting USC.

But the biggest winner of the week was Herm Edwards and Arizona State, as the Sun Devils scored a game-winning field goal to upset then-No. 15 Michigan State.

While many doubted the move by Arizona State to hire Edwards without any college coaching experience, the former NFL veteran showed he knows a thing or two about the game by stunning the Spartans in the desert.

Meanwhile at the top sits the Cardinal after their 17-3 victory over the Trojans. Behind Bryce Love and a stiff defense, Stanford flexed its might to improve to 2-0.

During the second week of the season, the league posted a record of 9-3, as Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Utah, Oregon State, California and Washington State joined Stanford and Arizona State in the win column.

UCLA was unable to give new head coach Chip Kelly his first win as a Bruin, falling hard on the road at Oklahoma. Arizona was also denied victory No. 1, getting blitzed by Houston, with the Trojans also losing.
