Some SEC football teams are emerging as real contenders while others are sinking to the bottom. Here are the power rankings heading into Week 3.

For some teams, Week 2 was as exciting as they come. For others, not so much. Before we get to power rankings, let’s take a run-through what happened this week in SEC Football.

No. 1 Alabama absolutely dismantled Arkansas State, unsurprisingly, 57-7. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa played lights out once again and pushed Jalen Hurts further down the totem pole in terms of likelihood to start. Their cross state rivals, Auburn, took down Alabama State 63-9. Despite a fight in the first half, No. 3 Georgia took down South Carolina 41-17, knocking the Gamecocks out of the AP Rankings after just a week of being ranked. Kentucky beat Florida for the first time in 31 straight games, pushing the Gators out of the AP Poll as well.

Mississippi State took down Kansas State in the Little Apple, 31-10. Ole Miss struggled in the first half, but a big second half led them to a 76-41 win over Southern Illinois. LSU blanked SE Lousiana, 31-0, to follow up an upset win over Miami in Week 1. Missouri took down Wyoming 40-13, Vanderbilt won over Nevada 41-10 and Tennessee took down ETSU 59-3.

Perhaps most surprisingly of all, Texas A&M stood toe to toe with No. 2 Clemson despite falling 28-26 in the final seconds and the Arkansas Razorbacks fell to Colorado State 34-27.

Now that we are all caught up, let’s talk power rankings.
