What impact did Week 2 have on the 2018 College Football Playoff and New Year’s Six Bowl Projections? One team conquered Troy, providing a minor shake-up.

Week 2 of the college football season is in the books and for the most part, our New Year’s Six Bowl Projections have remained fairly steady. 10 of our 12 teams last week won in blowout fashion, while two teams played close games against unranked opponents. And despite all 12 teams winning, one team is making an exit due to bad play on their end, and a big win by our newcomer.

Before we get into our Week 2 projections, here are a couple games that could cause some changes in next weeks updated projections:

  • Auburn plays host to LSU, which could play a factor in not only the SEC but in deciding who gets a NY6 Bowl and who doesn’t.
  • Ohio State travels to Arlington, TX to take on TCU, in a game that could benefit or hurt both teams, depending on the outcome.
  • Washington is on the road in a night game versus Utah, which is one of the toughest places to play in the Pac-12.
  • Not on our projections, but Boise State takes on Oklahoma State in a game that would ultimately decide the Broncos fate at the end of the season.

But with that being said, let’s take a look at our Week 2 New Year’s Six Bowl Projections:
