Week 2 of the college football season saw a major upset and fun action. Here are five reasons fans should be excited about Week 3.

Week 2 of the college football season didn’t look that enthralling on paper but turned out to be a fun weekend with upsets and Heisman Trophy watch list performances.

Week 3 has a handful of major showdowns including cross-conference and in-conference matchups scattered throughout the day. If Week 2 was supposed to be a down week and turned out fun, Week 3 has the potential to keep us talking about college football through mid-week.

Quarterbacks are at a premium in week three with major matchups coming for Joe Burrow, Brett Rypien, Dwayne Haskins, Jarrett Stidham, Kyle Shurmur, Kyler Murray and Shawn Robinson all having the onus on them on Sept. 15. That also puts pressure on defenses that need to stop these all-conference level passers. Nick Bosa will be tasked with slowing down Robinson while the TCU 4-2-5 will have to handle Haskins, JK Dobbins and Mike Weber.

The timing of the games works out nicely, too. Oklahoma and Iowa State is a noon ET kickoff, while LSU and Auburn is a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff, and Ohio State and TCU is the 8pm game on ABC. Hopefully you get up early, get your workout or your morning jog in before noon, and settle on the couch for a twelve hour day of college football.
