Saturday 7:00-9:00

Alabama at Ole Miss, 7:00 p.m. EST, ESPN

I’ve been fooled by fun teams set to play against Alabama before. There have been plenty of games that seemed like they’d be interesting, between a super exciting, offense-heavy team and Alabama that ended in nothing but sadness and a boring blowout. This one is going to be different though, hopefully. Ole Miss has an incredible offense, led by Jordan Ta’amu and like ten great receivers, and they should be at least a decent test for Alabama’s defense, which means Alabama is going to win by 80.

One sentence sell: I respect Alabama far too much to say that they might lose this game, but it could be close for a while because of that Ole Miss offense against a young Bama defense.

Ohio State vs. TCU, 8:00 p.m. EST, ABC

This weeks College Gameday game should be a good one, though I’m disappointed it isn’t being played in a college stadium. This is the first real test for both teams, and TCU’s defense against Ohio State’s offense should be a really interesting battle. I’m watching to see what Dwayne Haskins looks like against such a good defense.

One sentence sell: Ohio State is probably going to win, but to get the full college football experience, you’ve gotta watch the primetime ABC game every week.

USC at Texas, 8:00 p.m. EST, FOX

Texas-USC was spectacular last year, and with both teams seemingly both being at least somewhat bad this year, it should be very entertaining again. I’m not at all confident in either team’s offense, or defense for that matter, and whichever team loses might legitimately consider firing their extremely expensive head coach. Panic bowl!

One sentence sell: This is probably going to be the closest of the three primetime games, honestly.
