Florida football is down in the dumps, needing a big win after the Kentucky fiasco. The Gators get it over Colorado State in dominant, hope-instilling fashion.

Dan Mullen is 1-1 as the head coach at Florida after a potentially era-defining loss to Kentucky in Week 2. As painful as the loss was, the Gators have to take a deep breathe and move on. A Colorado State team that engineered a three-score comeback against Arkansas last week is on deck.

Will the Rams threaten one of the biggest brands in college football? Here are three bold predictions for Florida’s Week 3 bout against Colorado State.

3. Florida wins by 40

In one of the strangest twists of the previous era, Jim McElwain’s buyout from Colorado State earned the Rams a road trip to the Swamp. Mullen is calling shots for the Gators now, but the CSU is still cashing in the crisp $2 Million paycheck to fly out to Floride and get beat, handily.

Some non-Power 5 teams are built to play with the big boys. Those upset-minded squads generally play great defense and can run the ball effectively. Not only can Colorado State no do either of those well, they’re downright abysmal when it comes to stopping anybody on defense. That’s going to make for a big day for the Gators.

Oddshark lists the Gators as 20-point favorites. Mullen’s squad doubles that margin.
