LSU Football: 5 reasons the Tigers will upset Auburn
4. Joe Burrow will give the offense a boost
We have been patiently waiting for this, but now is the time. Joe Burrow will finally give this LSU offense a boost after two pedestrian weeks to start the season.
The Ohio State transfer passed for 140 yards against Miami with a sub-50 percent completion rate and then 151 yards against Southeastern Louisiana, completing just 50 percent (10-of-20) of his throws with two touchdowns and no picks.
The positive side of these early-season numbers is the interception-free rate. He has 291 yards with two touchdowns and no picks, but his completion rate and the team’s play-calling could improve, allowing him to open up a bit and take some shots down the field.
LSU will finally let the Buckeye transfer air it out and he’ll have his best game with the Tigers despite playing one of the top defenses in the land.
The offense will get a boost from Burrow’s arm as well as his legs.
