3. Nebraska will continue to get after the quarterback

The Cornhuskers were relentless against Colorado at getting after the quarterback, registering seven sacks and five quarterback hits. Junior defensive lineman Khalil Davis led the Cornhuskers with two sacks, but five different Nebraska defenders got in on the action. Mostly because they’ve only played one game, Nebraska leads the nation in sacks per game.

The Trojans have been sacked eight times in two games, which puts them at 118th in the nation in sacks allowed. The Trojans returned three all-conference performers from last year’s team, but have been unable to replicate that success in 2018. Some of that might fall on the loss of Silvers, who was the leader of this program.

Either way the game shakes out, the Cornhuskers defensive line should have a field day getting after Barker in the Barker. That may help a defense that failed to force a turnover against Colorado. Additionally, with uncertainty at quarterback heading into this game, the defense will need to be a rock for Nebraska.
