Keys to Victory

In order for Ohio State to win this game, they will need to throw the ball effectively. TCU’s secondary has been very good to start the season and if Haskins starts off poorly the Horned Frogs could try to make the Buckeyes offense one-dimensional.

A smart way to counter attack the passing defense will be to use Weber and Dobbins in the passing game which could set up the run in the second and third quarters.

For the Horned Frogs to walk out of AT&T Stadium with a victory they will need to win the battle in the trenches. Ohio State’s defensive line could make a case for the best in the nation and if TCU does not win that battle the offense will have a tough time putting up points.

If TCU gets off to a slow start don’t expect them to make a furious rally and score three or four unanswered touchdowns like last week against SMU. Ideally, the Horned Frogs would like to be in the low-30s at the start of the fourth quarter.

Ohio State’s offense is that good and TCU will need to keep up if they want to win the game. Will a rushing attack be able to keep their defense off the field? That will be a question we will be asking ourselves until Saturday.

Prediction

The first quarter will start fast for the Buckeyes. Haskins should throw a touchdown pass on the first drive and look for Weber to score in the first as well.

The Horned Frogs offense will not be able to keep up with the fast pace in the first half which should open things up for the Buckeyes to build a sizable lead.

It will be close until the third quarter but then Ohio State will pull away and get the victory.

Prediction: Ohio State 38, TCU 20
