10. Tennessee Volunteers – Trashcan

Some fans probably thought the big gray trashcan with the letters “HTB”, on the Tennessee Volunteer sideline was their new mascot. Although that would make a little more sense than what it is actually used for, that’s not the case. The trashcan on the Vols’ sideline is basically a basketball hoop. After a player forces a turnover, the run over to the trashcan and dunk a football.

It gets a 2/10 for creativity but a 10/10 for being a team player. Not that the Vols have had much to celebrate about, but this could, and should, prevent and limit any excessive celebration penalties from being called. Tennessee’s trashcan was brought to us by Butch Davis, with his departure after the 2017 season, we have yet to see the trashcan in the first two weeks of this season…which is probably a good thing.

9. Florida State Seminoles – Backpack

The Florida State Seminoles’ turnover backpack made it’s debut this season. The reasoning behind this stylish backpack is that Noles’ players want to “secure the bag”. A big, flashy piece of neck jewelry was already taken by their in-state rival, so the Noles thought they would get a pricey award for their defense to rival that of Miami.

Die-hard Florida State fans can get an exact copy of the backpack for just a small price. With a price tag of $495.00, this backpack could be yours, Seminoles’ fans. But in all seriousness, what’s in the bag? We get the purpose and meaning behind it, but there’s got to be something in there? Snacks, a walk-on’s scholarship or dare I say it…apple turnovers (you’re welcome dads).
