6. Alabama Crimson Tide – Ball Out Belt

For the Alabama Crimson Tide, their turnover honor is a championship belt, similar to one you’d see in wrestling, that was debuted in 2015 during Spring practice. The coaching staff was not happy about the lack of turnovers the Tide had forced in the previous year, and introduced the Ball Out Belt to provide an incentive to do your job on defense.

Just like other turnover awards, the belt is handed out to the person who committed the most recent turnover. But, those who wear the belt, also have the chance of getting their name engraved on it. And contrary to what it may seem, the trophy is for getting the ball out, not for balling out.

5. Memphis Tigers- Turnover Robe

You can be the Rolex wearin’, diamond ring wearin’, kiss stealin’, wheelin’ dealin’, limousine ridin’, jet flyin’ son of a gun when you force a turnover on the Memphis Tigers’ defense. The Tiger’s introduced their turnover robe inspired by WWE Legend, Ric Flair, in their Week 1 win over Mercer.

The Tigers have been one of college football’s best teams in terms of forcing turnover over the past couple seasons. Mix that with the Memphis, TN’s wrestling roots, you have one of the best turnover honors in the nation. And with their history of forcing turnovers and how they’ve started the 2018 campaign, we are going to see a lot of the turnover robe. WOOOOO!!!

4. Kennesaw State – Turnover Plank

The Kennesaw State Owls are not in the FBS but they deserve to make our list as one of the team’s with the best turnover award.

If you are like me and always wondered what happened to Ed, Edd and Eddy star, Plank, well we’ve finally got our answer. After the show ended in 2007, Plank tried to continue his Hollywood career but after the 2009 reunion of the show that brought him stardom, he decided to retire. But getting his branches on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, wasn’t his destiny.

Plank is now the official turnover award for the Owls. Started as an accident, the handing out of Plank will forever me apart of college football history. Plank dresses in a tie for the games and is always ready to be handed off to the Owl’s next recipient. Some child stars fall off the radar, but not this one, his legacy lives on forever.

3. Boise State Broncos – Throne

The Boise State Broncos hand out royalty in their turnover prop. In the Broncos’ own version of Game of Thrones, a player who forces a turnover for Boise State gets to sit on a shiny, and comfortable thrown, as they wait to get back on the field. For anyone who has ever played football, those metal benches on the sideline can be the literal definition of pain in the butt.

But this thrown comes with a title for the Boise State defense. The Broncos have self-proclaimed themselves as Kings of Chaos, and rightfully so, the person who leads the chaos, gets the thrown. But will others get jealous and seek to overthrow the current person a top of the Bronco Kingdom?! Yeah, but that’s kind of the point.
